 BIO

Actress, writer, Erika Hamilton has had a flourishing journey on a number of ever-expanding stages. Originally hailing from small town Ohio, her first moment in the spotlight came as a Cincinnati sports reporter. A career path she likely would have enjoyed, if life hadn’t offered other plans.

A competitive gymnast & dancer by training, Erika never had a problem with that first step. It wasn’t long before she left Ohio and reporting, for the next big stage. Philadelphia. There Erika danced for the 76ers Dance Team. She navigated her share of struggles, but soon found some success. At one point she even landed on the cover of The Daily News as ‘Philly’s Sexiest Single’. An inelegant title that she was happy to leave behind when she was invited to join the New York Knicks City Dancers, which at the time was widely recognized as a pinnacle stage for dancers.

It was under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden that Erika was discovered. She was prominently featured in iPod ads and her solo role opposite Bob Dylan, was noted in Steve Job’s biography as the most important commercial of the era for Apple. On screen, Erika has worked with some of the biggest and most renowned directors including Martha Coolidge, Mark Romanek, Fredrik Bond, Tony Kaye, Paul Hunter, Eliot Rausch and Anne Fletcher to name a few.

Erika has since carried her New York hustle to Hollywood, the grandest stage of all. Where she has now opened the door to the next chapter – writing and producing films that better represent her unique worldview. Erika was an inaugural member of Amy Aniobi’s TRIBE writing-mentorship program and she recently wrapped up a successful festival tour with her short film. Out of Tune. Next up is a personal, slice-of-life drama called Belief. It's a tribute to motherhood and community, focusing on one Black mom's unwavering belief in her son after their local school has let them down. Written and directed by her husband Christian Loubek, starring Erika along with the acting debut of her 2 kids, Charley & Baer.

During her downtime Erika likes to walk on the beach, listen to podcasts and drink good red wine. In a stand against becoming a complete cliché, westside mom, Erika refuses to wear Alo yoga clothes. And she won’t let her tween daughter have a Stanley cup. So… you’re welcome.
